We often enclose the meaning of worshipping God solely to: attending church, singing songs of praises and performing our quiet time daily.
Although these are all examples of worshipping God, worship is not an on occasion act. Worship is how we live, Worship is our lifestyle.
For us to worship God truly we must always and constantly die to self. We must let the Holy Spirit live inside us and let Jesus live through us.
We must make sure that our lives are living testimonies unto the work of God and His Kingdom, bringing glory to Him and not reproach.
Matthew 5:16 says : Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
We have to ask ourselves these:
Is this decision I’m about to take in alignment with God’s will?
Is my life a mockery to the Kingdom of God or is it a celebration to the what was done on the cross?
Will my life spot a mark as one living to worship God?
Are my life choices and character emitting that of a genuine child of God?
Asking ourselves some of these questions will definitely help to check and re-align our lives with God to fulfil his purpose for our lives as we live for him.
In Isaiah 29:13 The Lord says: These people come near to me with their mouth and honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.
Worship is not only the songs we sing and the dance we do at church – but our daily lives; how we talk, where we go, how we dress, what we eat or drink, and how we handle every situation we come across every single day.
3 ways I believe is key to truly worshipping God are Submission, Obedience, and Love which I’ll be touching upon on my next posts.
God bless you for reading!
