Sleep is rest and I mean total rest where our guards are down. We are open and only the protection of God covers us because we cannot see or hear anything. We are relaxed and tired and in an unconscious state and so that’s when the cowardly enemy sees as the best time to attack, disturb, steal, exchange, transfer and do all sorts of things to us.
This is why we MUST pray before we sleep and also be careful of where we sleep. I shared my experience previously on being pressed down in my sleep for almost 10 years and so now I’m going to list some ways to help with it.
1) Accept Jesus into your life as your Savior
2) Repent from all know sins and do your best to live an uncompromising holy life
3) Make the bible your weapon; mediate on the word and attack the enemy with the word. Psalm 138:2 says that God has put His word above His name. Use it!
4) Make out time to speak to God and hear from God; increase your prayer life.
5) Pray before you sleep. Try not to fall asleep everyday without asking for God’s guidance and protection on you, your family and your environment.
6) DO NOT BE AFRAID. Fear scatters everything God wants to do for us and so don’t be afraid. Challenge the enemy that you have dominion over him and that God hasn’t given you the spirit of fear but of power, love and of a sound mind.
7) Speak to yourself too “I’m not afraid, God is here with me, NO weapon formed or fashioned against me shall prosper” “
8) Whenever you have such dreams or disturbances, wake up, pray and cancel and speak destruction over every finished work of the enemy and cancel every evil exchange or transference or plantation or theft done against your life. Recite Psalm 91. You can also praise God until you fall asleep.
Additional Bible Verses :
Gal 6:17: From Henceforth, Let no man trouble me for I bear in my body the marks of The Lord Jesus.
Psalm 4:8: In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.
