True Love

June 1, 2013

Past experiences cause change. Hopefully, the kind of change that makes us wiser.
I was brought up Christian and so I’ve always believed in God. I prayed and went to church but It was nothing too spectacular.
About 3-4 years ago, everything changed. I was going through so much in my life at one point that no one would understand. No other person could do anything but God.
I made a new friend. A friend that could get me anything I wanted, and do any and everything. I found someone I could speak to at any time that would never turn on me. I had security. It was a different kind of relationship. He was never gonna walk away or leave.
I was tired of loving the wrong people and so I decided to invest and give my all to Jesus; it became a committed relationship.
When you love someone, you’ll do anything to please them or make them happy.  Like everything! And it’s funny because people don’t get it and they assume if you don’t compromise your faith, you’re “too religious”
Some wives will do anything for their husbands because of how much their love is. Or even, consider those that love their partner so much not to cheat. So why do we cheat God? Is our love questionable?  John 14:15 says, “If you love me, do as I command”.
In building a personal relationship with God, one necessary thing is submission.
You know, it’s the hardest thing ever to do what you don’t understand but we always have to trust that God is God.
There was a point in time I was close to giving up because I did not understand all I was going through, why it had to be me or when it’ll all be over.
I did everything I could but God was training me and teaching me patience. I have grown to live my life obeying God.
I have cancelled several plans just because God said “No, do not go”. These are to places I had been looking forward to, really excited and all but what do I do? I don’t go.
It was hard at first but I have to always listen to the Holy Spirit because every warning or advice is for my own good and even times when it didn’t backfire.
The extent to which God will speak to you and show you deep things when you truly love him is amazing.
In the end “don’t give up what you want most for what you want now”.  1 Cor. 2:9 says “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love him”. Trust God enough to Love Him! Happy New Month xxx
